German American Sports Fest 2019: As part of the state program “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz! Our Neighbors from the USA”, the Union Community Weilerbach, the Atlantic Academy Rheinland-Pfalz, and the Sportbund Pfalz are proud to host the German American Sports Fest 2019 on Saturday, Aug. 24, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Westpfalzschule Weilerbach (In der Nasserde 30, Weilerbach). The German American Sports Fest will feature American sports like Baseball, Roller-Derby, Lacrosse, and Cheerleading but also sports popular in Germany like soccer, Volleyball, ping-pong, and more presented by local sports clubs. Families, children and everyone interested are invited to try out different sports on the spot, inform themselves, and get in contact with sports organizations. There will also be a bouncy castle and a variety of culinary offers on-site. No admission charge, the event is family friendly.
Rocky Horror Shadow Show Auditions: Be a part of the huge annual KMC OnStage Theater production of the Rocky Horror Shadow Show by auditioning for roles in the cult classic Sep. 9 & 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the KMC Onstage on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3232. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee: This hysterical and interactive show will be performed at the KMC OnStage Theater, Kleber Kaserne, Aug. 9 to 11, 16 to 18 and 23 to 25. Family and MWR Community Expo: Summer Expo on Aug. 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., spend your lunch hour with Family and MWR celebrating summer. Speak with local representatives from throughout the community, learn about Family & MWR services and programs, and become acquainted with your new home.
