» The Atlantic Academy will hold a brown bag luncheon for the next installment of the events on the entrepreneurship series from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at their office, Lauterstrasse 2 in Kaiserslautern. The luncheon is for those interested in starting a home-based business in Germany, who are not sure what tax laws apply to them and what military regulations they have to be aware of. A tax professional and a successful home-based business owner will share information and insights and will be ready to answer questions. Afterwards, there will be plenty of time for coffee, networking and getting to know other business owners and entrepreneurs from the region. Admission to this family-friendly event is free. The event is held in cooperation with the U.S. Consulate General Frankfurt, the American-German Business Club Kaiserslautern, Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz and the Economic Development Agency Kaiserslautern.
» A free clothing and shoe bazaar for local refugees, hosted by the Jugendbuero in Ramstein Village, will be held Dec. 9. Donations of used or new winter clothing, shoes and blankets can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5 through 8 at the Jugendbuero, Am Neuen Markt 4, Ramstein Village.

» Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club and Team Ramstein will hold a cookie drive from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Dec. 15. ROSC and volunteers will be collecting homemade cookies for all single Airmen living in the dorms. Donations may be brought to the overhang at front entrance of Ramstein Officers’ Club. The goal is to provide each Airman with one dozen cookies. In order to achieve this goal, 1,200 dozen cookies must be made and brought in. Make sure cookies are cooled before packing in a disposable container and try to make the cookies festive for the holidays by adding sprinkles, frosting, dye or colored candy.
