Family and MWR Community Expo: Summer Expo on Aug. 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., spend your lunch hour with Family and MWR celebrating summer. Speak with local representatives from throughout the community, learn about Family & MWR services and programs, and become acquainted with your new home. Enjoy a live DJ, lunch and cake provided by the USO, giveaways and the chance to win several great prizes, including the grand prize of $1,000 in European Travel through Army Outdoor Recreation. KMC OnStage Summer Drama Camps: This class is for the blossoming actor who wants to learn about singing, acting, dancing and theatre productions. We will use theatre games to build knowledge, skills, and confidence on stage and in life. We will also cover the basics of how to move on stage, theatre etiquette, vocal projection, breathing, group improv and working within an ensemble. There will be sessions on dance and singing as well. Camp is from July 22 to Aug 2. The class will culminate with a final performance variety show on Aug 9. Classes will be held at the KMC Onstage on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3232. The camp is open to ages 6-18. It is $75 to participate. Holiday in the Sun: Whisk yourself away to Holiday in the Sun at Armstrong’s Club on July 20. You will be sure to enjoy some sunshine, drink specials, and music. Jazz Night at Armstrong’s Club: On July 27, relax and let the music take you on a ride at Armstrong’s Club Jazz Night. Enjoy Smooth Jazz, Funky Dance Music and dynamic R&B tunes performed by a live jazz band. Doors open at 9 p.m., show starts at 10 p.m. $8 cover charge, open to all I.D. cardholders and their guests, ages 18 and older. Food and drinks available for purchase. Young Frankenstein Auditions: Come be a part of the musical based on the 1974 comedy film written by the legendary Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder. Auditions will be held Aug. 19 & 20 between 6 and 8 p.m. at the KMC OnStage Theater on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3232. Those auditioning will be asked to perform a cold read and vocal auditions along with learning short choreography. No experience necessary. Casting will be for multiple roles, plus an ensemble. Grapes and Graffiti at Kazabra Club: Join us for an unforgettable evening of friends and painting, hosted by the Arts and Crafts Center at Kazabra Club (Vogelweh, Bldg.2057). This adult only gathering is open to ID cardholders age 18 and above. Absolutely NO painting skills are required; you will be guided throughout the whole process! $35 per person covers all supplies for painting. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee: This hysterical and interactive show will be performed at the KMC OnStage Theater, Kleber Kaserne, Aug. 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25.
