» Landstuhl Library hosts its 2nd Annual Star Wars Art Contest Celebration Monday. Celebrate Star Wars Day at the library and then submit your best Star Wars creation for a chance to win a Star Wars themed gift basket. Submissions will be accepted today through May 30. » The annual Strong Balance, Activity, Determination and Strength campaign is recognizing National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation has a variety of activities to support this campaign throughout the month of May. Attend one of these activities to earn a special Strong B.A.N.D.S. armband.

» May 16: Cross-country 10 miler, 10:30 a.m., Rhine Ordnance Barracks. $5. Registration is on-site from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Open to ID cardholders, ages 16 and older.

» May 18-21: Unit level soccer championships, 6 p.m. daily at Landstuhl Cage Field. Free for spectators.

» May 20: Story Walk, 10:30 a.m., Rheinland-Pfalz Library at Landstuhl, Bldg. 3810. Open to all ages.

» May 22-25: Outdoor Recreation whitewater rafting and canyoning trip, starting at $369. Sign-up is through Outdoor Recreation, Pulaski Barracks, Bldg. 2905.

» KMC Onstage free admission for wounded Soldiers: All programming is free of charge to wounded warriors and their guests at the Fisher House. Armstrong’s Club Events

» Cinco de Mayo celebration: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday. “Celebramos la raza Latina” with best Latin music. $1 tacos and more great specials.

» Mother’s Day Brunch at Armstrong’s Club: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 10. Brunch includes a carving station with assorted meats, a dessert buffet and a fruit and yogurt bar; moms receive a special gift. Seating is limited and must be reserved in advance. Tickets can be purchased online through WebTrac, at Armstrong’s Club from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday to Friday, or from any Java Cafe in the KMC. Adults, $19.95; Children (5-16), $9.95; Children (4 and under), free.

» Royal Princess Ball: 4 to 8 p.m, May 23. Event feaures dinner, games and dancing for fathers or mothers and their little princesses. There will be an opportunity to meet their favorite Disney Princesses and receive a special keepsake photo. Cost: $50 per parent/child couple; $25 per additional child. Seating is limited. Tickets must be reserved in advance. Deadline for reservations is May 15. Tickets can be purchased online via WebTrac, at Armstrong’s Club from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, or from any Java Cafe in the KMC.

» Industry Night Mondays: 5 to 10 p.m. the first and third Monday of every month. This night for service industry employees features raffles, cocktails and music.

» Trivia Wednesdays: 6 to 10 p.m. every Wednesday.

» Breastfeeding Support Group meets every Tuesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Join other moms and dads for this informational class about breastfeeding. The class includes guest speakers and lactation support specialists. Class meets at Landstuhl Library,

» Spectrum Families Support Group meets from 5 to 6 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month.  This Exeptional Family Member Program support group is for anyone who is, has, loves or works with a person with a spectrum disorder (autism, pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified, or Aspergers syndrome). » Baby Bumps: Passport to Parenting meets from 3 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday. Learn about parenting in this 6-week “socialize and learn” series for expecting parents. Classes and Training

» Baby & Me: Teaching Your Baby Sign Language from 3 to 4 p.m.  Monday and May 11. Using sign language with your baby helps to facilitate communication at an earlier age than possible with speech alone. Classes are offered for children ages 6 months and older: Class 1, first signs and mealtime signs; Class 2, bedtime signs and animal signs; Class 3, playtime signs and dressing signs. » ‘Hello, America!’ Class is from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday. This class is designed for spouses and family members preparing to move to the U.S. for the first time. » A free Volksmarching 101 class hosted by the Sunny Coyotes Volksmarching Club will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 14 at the Ramstein Recreation Center. Anyone that is interested is invited to attend.
