» A “Dinovember” photo contest is taking place at the Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl. During Dinovember, take clever photos of toy dinosaurs doing exciting things and enter them into the Dinovember photo contest for a chance to win a prize. » A Harvest Time Gathering event will take pace Monday to Nov. 27 at the Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl during its opening hours. Come and enjoy the harvest with refreshments and books. » A Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration will take place at 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at Pulaski Park. After the U.S. Army Garrison tree is lit, stick around for festivities in the park. » The Last Minute Christmas Shoppers Bazaar is the perfect place to finish off your holiday gift list. Find unique European treasures and specialty items for the entire family. » The Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club will hold its annual Holiday Cookie Drive on Dec. 17. Cookies may be dropped off under the porte-cochere at the Officers’ Club on Ramstein, Bldg. 302, beginning at 6:30 a.m. The club asks that donators package their cookies in disposable containers to minimize breakage. » Traditional Thanksgiving buffet: Thursday. Three seating times are available: 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Cost: adults, $22.95; children ages 5 to 16, $11.95; children ages 4 and under, free. Advance registration required. Tickets are available online via WebTrac or at any Java Cafe in the KMC.

» New Year’s Eve party: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Dec. 31. The night will include a live disc jockey, dancing, party favors and more. Cover charge: $10, includes appetizers and a champagne toast.

» Country Karaoke: 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. every other Friday. Sing your favorite country hit and take a spin on the mechanical bull Tornado.

» Texas Hold ’em: 8 p.m. to midnight every Friday. Buy-in is $25. Register and buy-in by 7 p.m.

» Newborn Network meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. every Thursday. Come and socialize in a coffee shop setting and meet other moms of newborns and infants up to age 1. » Comfort Measures and Relaxation for Childbirth takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. the third Friday of every month. Bring a partner or friend, water and wear comfortable clothes. Meetings

» The Rheinland-Pfalz Quilt Guild meets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Friday at the Ramstein South Side Chapel for a “Stitch and Gab.” Participants can join in and bring their latest projects while spending time with fellow stitchers and getting some “quilt therapy.” For more information, visit www.rpqg.eu.

Classes and Training

» Sponsorship Training takes place from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday. This course will help you fulfill the role as a sponsor for incoming personnel. Units sending students to training are required to preregister with Army Community Service to ensure that a unit-specific sign-in roster is available. » Commanders and senior leaders training is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m the first Thursday of every month. This training is a mandatory requirement within 45 days of assumption of command for all commanders and senior enlisted advisers, E7-E9. Receive information on the Family Advocacy Program, the Exceptional Family Member Program and the Army Emergency Relief Program. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
