» A German-American Day ceremony, hosted by the Atlantic Academy Kaiserslautern, Docu Center Ramstein and German-American and International Women’s Club, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Zehntenscheune, Kirchenstrasse 1 in Landstuhl. The celebration is in remembrance of Oct. 6, 1683, when 13 German families arrived near Philadelphia and founded Germantown. It honors the contributions of German immigrants to the development of America and highlights the relationships of German citizens and U.S. military members in the region.

» Open auditions for “Legally Blonde: The Musical” will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 and 29. This fun show is based on the novel and film of the same name. A large cast of males and females ages 16 and older is needed. Come prepared to do a cold read and perform a song for the directors. No registration required.

» A cooking class offered by the the German-American and International Women’s Club will take place at 4:30 p.m. today at the school in Miesau on Roemerstrasse. Enter through the side entrance. Participants will cook a traditional German holiday meal, including pumpkin soup, sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage, and a dessert. This training is a mandatory requirement within 45 days of assumption of command for all commanders and senior enlisted advisors — E-7 through E-9.
