Prelude to a Kiss Auditions: Audition for our winter production of Prelude to a Kiss, the 1980s play that became a 1990s movie staring Alec Baldwin and Meg Ryan. Bring to life a story about the transcendent power of love and the meaning of commitment. Immediately after Peter and Rita exchange wedding vows, an unknown elderly man asks to kiss the bride. As he does, the bride’s soul and the old magically exchange bodies with the old man. The groom doesn’t realize until the honeymoon that Rita’s body is no longer inhabited by her true personality. He must find the old man and keep his love despite Rita’s new, less attractive packaging. Mamma Mia auditions: Warm the German winter with a breezy musical that lightens your heart and puts a song on your lips. Take your neighbors on a journey to the Greek Isles for a wedding hijacked by a quest for paternity, and a quest for paternity that turns into a second chance at love. We are seeking: Musicians, Performers, Crew. Show dates: February 8 to 10, 15 to 17, and 22 to 24. Auditions will include a 1 minute prepared song (bring backing track), a choreography lesson, and a cold reading. Auditions will be Nov. 26 & 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. You may attend either day of auditions, located at the KMC OnStage Theater. Adults and 13+ welcome. Ugly Sweater Run: On Dec. 1, runners and fashionistas unite for the first annual Ugly Sweater Run! Dust off your favorite ugly sweater and head to the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Special Event Center for what is sure to be a fun 5K. Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Run begins at 10 a.m. Entrance fee is $7 and children under 12 are free! The first 100 participants will receive a t-shirt and prizes will be awarded to the first male, female, and child finishers. You must be wearing an ugly sweater to be eligible for prizes. All Winter White Party: Winter is here and Armstrong’s is ready to party! Celebrate the All Winter White Party by dressing to impress all in white on Dec. 8. Parent and Child Art Night Out: Join us for a night of painting with your kids. Have fun painting together for a night and take home a beautiful family keepsake to treasure forever! This parent and child painting class is designed for you and your child to have a night out together and have some fun. Absolutely NO painting skill is required! We will guide you throughout the whole process! $35.00 for one adult and one child age 5 to 18 (includes all supplies for painting). Bottled drinks & snack packs will be provided. “Sew & Tell” classes: For a limited time, Baumholder Arts & Crafts Center is offering sewing classes. This is a unique opportunity to learn sewing techniques that can save you money and make your home more sustainables. Lisa will teach you to create fantastic eco-friendly household items that can be re-used time and time again and made with your favorite fabric and personal touch. Two separate classes will be offered per item. Friday classes are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday classes are 1 to 3 p.m. Items and dates are as follows: Dec. 7 and 8 – Passport Holders. Holiday Artisan Fair and Flohmarkt: On Nov. 17, the Baumholder Arts and Crafts Center invites you to see, smell, taste, and experience our first annual holiday market!
