» October is Anti-Bullying Month. During the month of October, Rheinland-Pfalz Library encourages patrons to write down, anonymously or not, their feelings on bullying and what they would say to a bully if given the opportunity. The library will display all responses inside the front entrance to show the effects of bullying. Open to all ages. » Vehicle Safety Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at Pulaski Barracks Automotive Skills Center, Bldg. 2859. Winter is coming and Pulaski Automotive Center is offering free vehicle safety inspections in celebration of Vehicle Safety Day. Make sure that your vehicle fits all of the safety standards to ensure that you stay safe on the roads. Mechanics will spend a minimum of 10 minutes per vehicle and review all components to ensure that your vehicle can properly pass an inspection and drive safely on the road. » Introduction to Sewing: 1 to 3 p.m. every Saturday from Oct. 17 to Nov. 21. Decorated, experienced costume volunteers teach you how to sew. Cost: $75 per student; $50 if you use your own sewing machine. Open to ages 12 and older; children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

» Hispanic Heritage Month: Latin dance competition: Oct. 17. The winning couple in each dance category (salsa, bachata and merengue) will receive $100. No fee to participate; sign-ups will be from 9 to 11 p.m. the night of the event.
» Not So Spooky Costume party: 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 31. Family event features dance music, character meet and greet, candy stations and a light meal. Show off your costumes. » The Rheinland Pfalz Quilt Guild monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Ramstein Middle School. The program will be yard sale and swap meet. Clean and de-clutter your sewing room by bringing fabrics and notions to the meeting to sell or swap. Any items you don’t want to take home can be donated to the guild for next month’s program “Make It, Bake It, Fake It.”
» Multicultural Spouses Club meets from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 21. Join fellow spouses for a fun and interactive club that promotes diversity and networking. » Team Ramstein Hispanic Heritage committee will sponsor a Hispanic cooking class and exposition from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ramstein Northside Chapel. The event features how to cook Latin flavors, Latin dancing instructions and a scholarship presentation.
» Personal Growth Series, Army Family Team Building II, takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 21 to 23. This class will focus on improving your communication, your ability to deal with conflict and problem solving. It also includes ways to overcome stress and how to win at time management.
