Each year on the second Sunday in September, Berglangenbach, which belongs to the Baumholder Union Community, holds its annual farmers and arts and crafts market. For the 14th year, the village will be the stage for about 100 regional farmers and vendors Sunday.
Visitors will find a big offer of vegetables and fruit from the local area. The wide range of products and merchandise will include wines, schnaps, liquors, juices, bread and cakes, honey, marmalade, wurst, cheese, pasta, oil and vinegar. Artists will present their handcrafted items including jewelry, wooden toys, decorations, ceramics, hats, T-shirts, glass objects, artificial flower bouquets and wreaths and baskets.
Craftsmen such as smiths, turners, goldsmiths, basket makers, roofers, engravers and chainsaw carvers demonstrate their skills. The market will also present a vintage tractor show and animal show with farm animals. Novelties to admire this year will be alpacas. Children can enjoy rides on ponies or on a merry-go-round.
Farmers and vendors will offer all kinds of food specialties: schwenk steaks, gyros, wuerstchen, egg rolls, fish broetchen, game dishes, French fries, baked fish, pizza, fresh bread, waffles and cakes.
Music associations from Kastel and Weselberg will entertain the audience.
To get to Berglangenbach, take A62 north to Freisen, then L133 direction Baumholder, which turns into L384 direction Berschweiler/Fohren-Linden. Turn left twice until you reach L347. A few kilometers after Fohren-Linden, there will be signs to the farmers market.
