The 86th Medical Group is excited to announce limited enrollment for TRICARE Plus eligible beneficiaries.
TRICARE Plus is a program that allows beneficiaries who normally are only eligible to get care at a military facility on a space available basis, to enroll at the military facility for primary care. Beneficiaries using the following health plan options may apply for TRICARE Plus:
TRICARE Standard Overseas
TRICARE for Life
Enrollment requirements:
- Complete TRICARE Plus enrollment form at the TRICARE Front Desk, Bldg. 2114, on Ramstein.
- Provide medical records and health history.
- Screening exam with a provider, may include labs, radiology, or consult before acceptance.
- Family members will be empanelled together when possible.
TRICARE Plus benefits:
- There are no enrollment fees, no associated costs with the primary care you receive at the 86th MDG.
- Beneficiaries will be assigned a primary care manager.
- Beneficiaries get primary care appointments with the same access standards as TRICARE Prime enrollees
- Beneficiaries may still get care from civilian providers. TRICARE Standard rules apply.
- TRICARE Plus enrollment is reflected in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System. TRICARE For Life benefits are not affected by enrollment in the TRICARE Plus program
- TRICARE Plus limitations:
- TRICARE Plus is not a comprehensive health plan. It does not guarantee access to specialty care at any military treatment facility. Space-availability rule applies at another MTF and TRICARE Standard rules apply for care from civilian providers.
- Enrollment into TRICARE Plus at this MTF does not extend enrollment to another MTF.
- The 86th MDG commander may limit, continue or discontinue enrollment depending on the clinic capacities, capabilities and missions.
- TRICARE Plus is not available to beneficiaries enrolled in TRICARE Prime, a civilian health maintenance organization, or Medicare HMO.
- You should not move non-command-sponsored family members overseas based solely on the potential availability of TRICARE Plus.
