***image1***The lowdown:
The Miesau Fitness Center and Gymnasium is home to the Kaiserslautern Community Wrestling Team. The gym is the site for Army-sponsored wrestling tournaments.
“We treat everyone like family here at Miesau,” said Irvin Siplin, U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern facility manager for the Miesau Fitness Center and Gymnasium. “Our staff is friendly; the facility is very clean; and, we provide excellent customer service.”
Army PT times at Miesau are 6 to 8 a.m., and 3:30 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Mr. Siplin said the fitness center is mostly crowded during the morning PT hours and between 9:30 and 11 a.m., and sometimes, the fitness center gets a “good lunch crowd.”
The gear:
The Miesau Fitness Center has a fully equipped cardio room with five treadmills, five elliptical trainers, one stair climber, five stationary bikes and three free climbers. No sign-ups are required for use of equipment. It has a free-weight and a full-weight training room with every piece of equipment needed to get the full range of the workout. It showcases a basketball court, racquetball court and tennis court.
The activities:
There are no activities or programs offered at the Miesau Fitness Center and Gymnasium. Like all Army KMC fitness centers and gymnasiums, Miesau offers towel service.
Opening hours:
The Miesau Fitness Center and Gymnasium is open 24 hours, seven days a week even on federal and U.S. Army Europe training holidays. Staff NCOs work in the facility after hours and on holidays.
The bottom line:
Miesau is ideal for shift workers or those who like to workout at midnight because it’s always open.
