***image1***The Kaiserslautern GR-081st Cadet Corps held their annual Dining In
Oct. 25. The Dining In was held to bring the Corps together, boost the cadets’ morale and help cadets learn the correct way to behave at a formal dinner.

The first part of the Dining In was a presentation of the colors by the KHS GR-081st color guard. After the presentation, the head table was introduced: retired Col. Leon Stamm, SASI; retired Master Sgt. Maxine Van der Kaap, ASI; Cadet/Lt. Col. Curtis Singleton, president of the mess; Cadet/Capt. Karly Pecua, the madam vice; and the guest speaker. The POW ceremony was carried out by the Sergeant at Arms Cadet/2nd Lt. Myko Banks, while the POW paragraph was read by the madam vice.

Finally, the meal was served, with a little catch for the AS-1 cadets. Being observed by the AS-2 cadets and above, the AS-1 cadets had to eat at attention for 10 minutes. A few minutes later, the grog bowl was opened. The non-alcoholic concoction was interesting, to say the least. Cadet after cadet was sent to the bowl for various violations to the rules of the Mess. The ceremonial cake was served after being cut by the POM and the Sergeant at Arms.

The guest speaker for this event was Tech. Sgt. Rodney Deese.  He spoke of the importance of leadership and why we need it in our everyday lives.  He talked about dedication to duty and how he uses it in his life.

To close the event, the color guard retired the colors and the president of the Mess dismissed the cadets for the evening of a successful Dining In.
