Motorcycle club supports KHS, RHS

***image1***May 3 marked the second year the Euro Knightz Motorcycle Club has participated in Kaiserslautern High School’s Spring Pep Rally.

Freshmen through seniors and faculty members were shocked and amazed as sport bikes circled inside of their gymnasium.

The six members of the Euro Knightz Motorcycle Club surprised the students at this year’s event. Tech. Sgt. Alfred Wells, president of the Euro Knightz MC, introduced the riders and thanked the student body for allowing the motorcycle club to be a part of their special event. When the athletic teams were announced, they congregated in the middle of the gym surrounded by beautiful bikes.

Sergeant Wells informed the high school seniors of this year’s grant of $500, an increase of $250 from last year, to go towards a winner’s college education. This offer was made to KHS and Ramstein High School seniors. The MC will read the received essays and decide on a winner by Monday.

At the pep rally, Sergeant Wells also presented a teacher, Kim Schiffers, with a plaque thanking her for the support she gave the Euro Knightz MC last year. Ms. Schiffers kept the Euro Knightz MC involved with KHS events and volunteer opportunities such as the 2007 Spring Pep Rally and chaperoning the Snow Ball Dance. She also helped spread the word to seniors about the inaugural grant.

This year, we would like to thank Matt Johnson, a KHS faculty member who helped coordinate this event with Staff Sgt.Vernee’ White, first lady and secretary of the Euro Knightz MC.

Towards the end of May, the Euro Knightz are looking forward to participating as chaperones at this year’s KHS prom.
