Mountain run leads to Nanstein Castle

The running club LLG Landstuhl will sponsor its 21st Nanstein Mountain Run at 3 p.m. March 17. It is the second run to obtain the Palatinate Mountain Run Trophy.

The run will begin near Sickingensporthalle, gym next to public swimming pool, at Kaiserstrasse 128 in Landstuhl and go across forest trails up to Nanstein Castle.

The trail is 7.1 kilometers long with a height difference of 350 meters.

The first three winners of each age group will receive certificates and prizes. The awarding ceremony will be at 5 p.m. Starting fee is €7 for adults and €3 for students.

The locker rooms for men is in Sickingensporthalle and the one for women is in IGS-Schulsporthalle, Konrad-Adenauer Strasse.

“If desired, we can arrange the transportation of clothes and sports bag to the finishing point,” Barsteiner said. “The return path is about 1,200 meters and posted with signs.”
