***image1***If you haven’t been to the new Ramstein Southside Fitness Center yet, take some time to go check things out. They have regularly scheduled free fitness classes including cardio kickboxing, step aerobics (all skill levels), body sculpting, x-treme circuit and spinning.
Not sure which aerobic classes are for you? Pick up a schedule at the front desk, or ask the Southside Fitness Center Staff.
They also have a convenient after work yoga class at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a Pilates class at 7 p.m. on Mondays. Pilates classes are $7 per class and yoga is $45 for eight classes per month. For more information, call 480-0294.
Over the next couple of weeks, there is a lot going on at the new Southside Fitness Center. A Family Fun Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday.
Registration is at 9 a.m. at the Southside Fitness Center and categories include parent/child (runners and walkers) and parent/stroller (runners and walkers). The walker race begins at 9:45 a.m. and runners commence at 10 a.m.
***image2***If you prefer to exercise outdoors, seven laps around the outdoor track equal 1.5 miles. Don’t forget to log your run in FitLinxx. Keep in mind, though, that strollers, rollerblades, skateboards and Fido are not allowed on the track at any time.
If races and classes aren’t quite your cup of Gatorade, the upstairs cardio room has nice options for aerobic activities. Twelve treadmills, 15 stationary bikes (6 upright and 9 recumbent), 17 elliptical/cross trainers, 4 steppers and 3 Cybex Arc Trainers are calling out for use. You can even watch TV while you exercise.
If your machine is close to the windows, you can gaze out at the beautiful Popeye’s Chicken restaurant right across the street – I mean the gorgeous landscaping – and congratulate yourself for staying fit.
