New program offers variety of shows

***image1***Ramstein’s culture and conference center, Haus des Bürgers, has started the ticket sale for play season 2006/2007. Like each year, an entertaining program with musical, dance and theater performances is offered.

“We again are able to offer a diversified program with concerts, operettas, musicals, comedies and dances,” said Ramstein-Miesenbach Mayor Klaus Layes during a recent press conference. “Ever since the Haus des Bürgers opened in 1986, it works in cooperation with the Salten Theater Agency, and provides a good variety for our music-loving audience.”

Musical performances include:
“Made in Germany,” a concert presented by Thomas Schwab and his ensemble in cooperation with SWR to honor the German history of music and German singers, 8 p.m. Sept. 15. Tickets cost €19, 22 and 25.

The Comedian Harmonists present a music show with songs from the 1920s, 8 p.m. Nov. 4. Tickets cost €19, 21 and 23.

The Rheinisches Operetta Theater presents “Das Land des Lächelns,” a romantic operetta by Franz Lehar, 8 p.m. Dec. 14. Tickets cost €22, 25 and 28.

The annual Christmas show “Christmas Moments” is presented in cooperation with SWR, 8 p.m. Dec. 20. Soloists, a band and a gospel choir, present a breathtaking show. Tickets cost €20, 25 and 29.

The New Year’s concert with the Johann Strauss Orchestra Budapest playing waltz and operetta music is 5 p.m. Jan. 7. Tickets cost €20, 22 and 24.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is presented in German at 8 p.m. Jan. 12. Tickets cost €26, 29 and 32.

A gala concert with the renowned German singer Freddy Quinn is 8 p.m. March 10. Tickets cost €30, 34 and 37.

Times Square Productions New York presents the rock musical “Jesus Christ Superstar” by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The songs will be in English. Tickets cost €26, 29 and 32.

The King of Swing Orchestra presents “Big Band Battle” with swing like Benny Goodman played it in Carnegie Hall, 8 p.m. April 28. Tickets cost €19, 22 and 25.

The musical “Anatevka” will be performed at 8 p.m. May 17. Tickets cost €22, 25 and 28.

The classical music series “Sundays, 5 p.m.” features a variety of concerts with different performers Oct. 1 and 29, Nov. 19, Feb. 4, March 25 and May 20. Tickets cost €10.

Dance presentations:

“The Dancing Man, Broadway at it’s Best,”shows the highlights of musical dancing, 8 p.m. Oct. 4. Tickets cost €22, 25 and 28.

“Dirty Dance Fever” is a music and dance show with 23 soloists, dancers and orchestra, 8 p.m. March 18. Tickets cost €30, 34 and 37.

The theater program features several German comedies with renowned actors.

“We also offer babysitter service. If parents let us know three days in advance, we can arrange for well-trained babysitters, who take care of the children in the library, right next to the performance hall,” said Burgel Stein from the Haus des Bürgers. Cost for babysitting is €10.

The Haus des Bürgers offers season tickets at reduced prices. The classical music season ticket includes six concerts. The mini selection season ticket offers a choice of four from 22 performances and the maxi selection season ticket offers seven out of 22 performances.

Tickets are available at the ticket office in the Haus des Bürgers (next to the Rathaus on Marktplatz in Ramstein-Miesenbach) 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
