***image1***A sudden wind gust made me remember that I wasn’t in heaven, but on top of one the most beautiful mountains in the world. You wouldn’t be able to tell that from the large amounts of people wearing costumes ranging from Mr. Potato Head to Fred Flintstone.
Music was in the air, making the place sound more magical, if that was even possible. The music was coming from the stage where Pink was performing live, not as a skier in a costume, but as a recording artist.
I couldn’t help but be amazed by the beauty of the place, with the snow-covered mountains and the gorgeous clear sky. I was in Ischgl, Austria with the Tannenbaum Ski Club during the close of the ski season, when skiers go down the slopes in hilarious costumes.
I was there with hundreds of friends, some which I’m still meeting. The Tannenbaum Ski Club has an unspoken bond within its members – you can be at any place, and as long as there is another Tannenbaumer, you are there with a friend.
I met hundreds of people from all walks of life that day; some of them have even become very close friends of mine. The Tannenbaum Ski Club is more than just a ski club, it’s a place to meet people with the same interests as you, share the same hobbies as you, and like you, are in the neverending search of a good time.
If you don’t ski, don’t worry. I don’t ski either and I’m on the board. All you really need is a love of seeing the most beautiful places on earth, meeting new friends and the ability to have fun. If this describes you, then join us at the Landstuhl Community Club on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
During our meetings you can sign up or get information on upcoming trips, meet the board members or just mingle and enjoy the music. Did I mention all of our functions have free drinks and finger foods? See you there.
