Don’t let the added fun and adventure of the holidays mask your responsiblity to stay alert, report suspicious activity and safeguard property.
According to KMC officials, this is historically a time of year when an already high rate of vehicle break-ins increases within the KMC. It’s also a time of year when terrorist threats are believed to be elevated, so it’s important to keep a low profile.
To enhance security and lessen the chance of being singled out, the KMC Antiterrorism/Force Protection office reccomends that DOD decals, military and personal items are removed from vehicles. Also, always lock unattended vehicles, even while on base. Local police statistics show that taking preventative action will mitigate the chances of becoming a victim, while allowing you to enjoy the local festivities.
If you become a victim or detect suspicious activity, call the 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron Law Enforcement Desk at 0631-536-7070.
