Alpine Fishing Weekend Austria

This special fishing trip will delight all anglers looking for a challenge at a beautiful and scenic new destination, and offers the chance to go fly or spinning-reel fishing. Based out of comfortable apartments in the village of Galtür, you will spend the weekend fishing in your choice of multiple fishing sites, including a private lake, several ponds and 2 private mountain streams, reserved solely for fly fisherman. Here, between 1500 and 2000 meters above sea level, you will cast your lure into some of the cleanest waters in Austria by day, and enjoy Tirolean hospitality by night.

After an in route stop-n-shop in Boleslowiec, famous for it’s many pottery factories, you will continue to your 4 star hotel in the city center, from where you will be free to explore this beautiful renaissance city with countless attractions like Wawel Castle and the nearby salt mines. You will also have the opportunity to visit Auschwitz Concentration Camp to learn of the horrors of the holocaust, and other excursions will also be available from your on-site tour manager.

Prague suffered considerably less damage during World War II than other major cities, and contains one of the world’s most pristine and varied collections of architecture. From your downtown brewery/hotel, at the edge of the walking zone and only minutes from Old Towne Square, you will be a stone’s throw away from the majority of Prague’s downtown destinations. From this home base, you can use the entire weekend to visit as many of Prague’s famous attractions as you wish.

Explore Berlin, the capital city of Germany! Visit Brandenburg Gate, explore Checkpoint Charlie, the remnants of the Berlin Wall, and the legacy of communist East Berlin. See the ruins of WWII, eat a currywurst, shop at the exclusive stores on Kurfürstendamm and Unter den Linden, visit Berlin Zoo, or check out the view of the once divided city from the top of the TV tower or the glass dome of the Reichstag! Sample more than 100 specialty Belgian Beers at the Antwerp BierPassion festival! Antwerp is the world’s leading diamond city, and in the middle ages was one of the richest cities in the region. As you wait for the festival to start in the afternoon, you can admire the old-world architecture while you explore the countless churches, museums, and squares. See the butcher’s guildhouse, built to resemble stacks of bacon, and Het Steen, a medieval fortification on the banks of the river Schelde which now holds a naval museum. Antwerp’s Diamond District is filled with countelss jewelry shops, and sharp eyed people may even find the Vlaeykensgang, a hidden street housing some of Antwerp’s best restaurants.

Hut Hiking and Climbing

High in the Swiss Alps above the shores of Lake Lucerne sits The Swiss Alpine Club Wingallenhutte mountain hut. 3 hours of scenic hiking from the top of the gondola station take us from 1400m to over 2000m to spend three nights exploring trails with views including glacier-covered slopes and mountain summits over 300 meters high! Technical rock climbing opportunities abound for those interested in vertical endeavors. Well protected, beginner friendly routes exist all around the hut. There is even a small alpine lake to take a cheeky dip in!

Canoeing Mosel Valley
June 16, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Canoe down the Mosel River from the town of Kesten to Bernkastel Kues, passing steeply sloped vineyards and quaint castles as we make our way downstream. These trips are a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the weather, journey through one of the most famous wine regions in Germany. An adventurous spirit is recommended for all participants. Experience is not required, but for those without, be prepared for the possibility of getting wet! After we get off the river, we will make a stop at a local winery for some wine tasting. The shops and stores in Bernkastel-Kues will be open. These trips are not recommended for small children (unless accompanied by 2 adults). All participants must be at least 5 years of age and able to swim on their own. What to bring: Comfortable, weather appropriate shoes and clothing for the water; credit/debit card or euro; military ID and passport.
