Athen Griechisches Restaurant
Restaurant review
Tucked in the middle of Ramstein Village is a cozy little treasure trove of Greek delights.
Athen Griechisches Restaurant is my go-to dinner spot. My friends and I like to spend a few hours talking, eating and having a very relaxing night.
It is easy to get a table at Athen, and they can easily accommodate a big group with their party room.
In the main dining room, the healthy green vines climbing all over the walls and ceiling make me feel like I am dining in an elven glen. A giant fish tank in the corner gives off a calming, peaceful sensation and a little bit of entertainment. Even though the staff is small in number, they handle their customers with great care.
My favorite starter is the bread and tsatziki, a delicious dip made of cucumber, garlic and yogurt. It is slightly tart and very refreshing. We always order and devour it in record time.
I crave the small farmer salad and have to give in to it weekly. I like it because there is a change in ingredients every time.
My salad plate sometimes comes with orange bell pepper slices, a sprinkle of corn or sometimes a bit of spinach. It keeps me guessing while providing me with the stability of fresh feta cheese, kalamata olives and bright tomatoes.
The pizza is yummy and has good portion options. The menu also offers
simple pasta or German food for those who aren’t Greek food enthusiasts.
The Greek wine offerings are bright and may color your lips dark plum, but are always fun to drink.
My friends and I have been working our way through the menu and have met with great success.
I have not had anything I didn’t like. Come and give Athen a try!
