With the increase in gas prices worldwide, one of our local natural gas providers, Pfalzgas, has announced that they will be increasing their natural gas rates effective July 1. The rate increase will be approximately 11 percent.
Pfalzgas officials have advised that the company will not perform midterm gas meter
readings and that they will use a formula based on several factors to determine natural gas usage after July 1. However, if you wish to read your meter on July 1, you may do so and then forward the meter reading to Pfalzgas.
If you elect to perform a midterm meter reading, please do so on July 1 and report the reading to Pfalzgas. You should contact them at the phone number on your bill. You will need the account number, gas meter number and the midterm reading. You may also get more information at www.pfalzgas.de.
Note that with this price increase, your monthly installments may not be enough to pay for the full year’s natural gas costs. You should consider setting aside additional funds in case you owe more at the end of the year.
