The price of a first class letter, 1 ounce, will increase May 11 2 cents and will cost 44 cents. Other classes of mail and some services will also increase.
The Forever Stamp, first issued in May 2007 at the cost of 41 cents, is still good for sending first class letter mail weighing 1 ounce or less – it will not matter how much or how often first class postage increases in the future.
There is still time to buy last year’s Forever Stamp for 42 cents. The Forever Stamp eliminates future issues of costly printing and search for 2- or 3-cent stamps that usually follows a price increase.
When the rate increase begins May 11, your local military post office should have the new 44 cent stamps. The stamp is the same, but the price will change.
