***image1***In a “Come on down” kind of way, Staff Sgt. Lucas Hartsuff, of Ramstein
Postal Operations, called out Marisa Stratton’s name Oct. 28, when he
and a post office crew visited two Ramstein schools.
Marisa, a first-grader at Ramstein American Elementary School, was
among eight winners of the Ramstein Postal Operations stamp design
contest for children in grades 1-5. The contest was among several
activities, including a raffle at the post office, held to promote
National Stamp Collection Month in October.
The theme of the stamp design contest, announced to students in
September, was “Your favorite activity during the fall or winter
season.”
Creative children set out to design their winter stamps. Tech. Sgt. Wes
Smith, Ramstein Post Master, said winners received commemorative
stamps, stamp booklets and other gifts.
Folks in the KMC can check out the creative works of more than 80
children, whose stamp designs are hanging in the Ramstein North Post
Office.
