“Troy got the hot hand early so we tried to get the ball to him,” said Batiste, who led the team with 10 assists.
Myles led Ramstein in scoring with 17 points.

“I felt real comfortable shooting in that gym, and the rim just looked big,” said Myles. “Batiste did a great job of distributing the ball; he caught me in rhythm the whole game.”

Led by big man Austin Layton, Ramstein’s size on the interior eventually began to wear down Kaiserslautern.

“He’s the best big man in the league,” said Batiste.
Ramstein has been playing without their head coach, Andre Chilton, who was TDY for most of the season. Jason Glenn, assistant coach, filled in for Chilton in his absence and posted a winning record.

The win gives Ramstein a record of 10-5, and players said the team is starting to come together.

“We got some new players and a new coach, and the team is finally starting to gel,” said Batiste.

Ramstein will be challenged Saturday by Weisba-den at Vogelweh, then they will try to repeat as champs at the Kaiserslautern Christmas Classic Dec. 18 to 21.
