Ramstein leadership wants to hear from you on how to spend winnings — potentially up to $700,000 — from the Commander in Chief’s Installation Excellence Award competition.
“Our Airmen and family members have some great ideas about how we can make our base even better,” said Brig. Gen. Mark August, 86th Airlift Wing commander. “We are going to have some money to spend, and we want to hear your ideas on how we should spend it.”
Airmen and families may email ideas to 86AW.Installation.Excellence@us.af.mil.
“We are excited to hear your ideas, because you’ve earned this money, and we want to give it back to you,” said Rendon. “You live here. You work here. You’re the experts, so we want to hear from you on how we can best use this money.”
The Commander-in-Chief’s annual Installation Excellence Award was established in 1985 by former President Ronald Reagan to highlight innovation and creativity by the people who maintain and operate U.S. military installations. Final results are expected this spring.
“Because the winner of the competition receives $700,000 and the runner-up receives $400,000, Ramstein will definitely have some well-earned money to improve an already impressive installation,” said August.
“We’re confident we will be successful when the results are announced,” said August. “Regardless of the outcome, we are already winners. Please tell us how we can help you. We look forward to hearing from you!”
