Sophomore Nadia Rahman of Ramstein cruised to an easy victory to win the Ramstein cross country meet at Seewoog on Saturday, Sept. 7. Rahman ran a 21:01.94. Ramstein finished first, second, ninth and tenth to complete the balanced victory. Alexis Tri was ninth. Baumholder’s Madison Brech and Ramstein’s Isabella Naglack finished in a tie for tenth while Royals Katie Hickman was twelfth. Baumholder’s Dasha Lavay, Regan Ridling and Lydia Coyour finished 21st, 22nd and 23rd. The Royals had 31 points, SHAPE 43, Lakenheath 61 and Baumholder 81. It was like a sea of blue as Ramstein dominated the boys portion of the six-team Ramstein cross country meet. Three-sport star Connor Mackie led the field from start to finish to win the matchup. Ramstein dominated the event, placing in 15 of the top 18 spots. They had 21 points to runner up SHAPE’s 68 points and Brussels’ 88 points. Mackie completed the 5k (three mile) course in 17:57.05. He finished eight seconds in front of SHAPE runner Sam Dowdell. Ten of the next 12 places were Ramstein runners. Ben Brewster was third and Gideon Zaug was fourth. Aiden Stamp of Lakenheath was fifth, followed by Blake Peterson, Max Farqueron, Johnathan Jantz, Ezra Letz, Jacob Adams, Jacob Golden and Everett Majer. The top Baumholder runner was Jacob Cruz in 22nd place.
