The City of Pirmasens hosted the annual Rheinland-Pfalz State Fair June 21 through 23. The fair was sponsored by Rheinland-Pfalz charity organizations, as well as military members, some of whom participated in the festivities. U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa were represented by fire trucks, security forces police cruisers and a Hawkeye from the 1st Combat Communications Squadron, and the USAFE-AFAFRICA band also conducted a live concert. Airmen from Ramstein and Spangdahlem participated in a youth reception and met with Minister President Malu Dreyer. The state fair offered entertaining programs with live music, dance performances and presentations. There were 11 stages and activity areas located in the center of town. The fair also reflected the diversity of the many communities in the state and also offered tourists traditional craftsmanship and culinary specialties from the different regions.
