Students in Ramstein High School’s Career Practicum Program learned to dress for success at a seminar on professional style Sept. 17.
Volunteers from the Airman & Family Readiness Center provided information on job interviewing and office attire to juniors and seniors in the RHS program.
The class, designed to arrange internships for high school students, is dedicated to preparing young people for future success.
“Primarily, we’re trying to be successful interviewers,” said Bryan Sanchez, one of the program’s coordinators. “First impressions are lasting and we’re aiming to enable them to make a good impression.”
Students at the seminar were given many interviewing tips, from how to shake a prospective boss’ hand to how much perfume or cologne they should or shouldn’t wear. They also learned different aspects of office attire. The girls were told appropriate styles for their hair and makeup while the boys learned how to tie a tie and choose the right suit.
“They talked to us about how to dress and how to act, which will really help us in our professional careers,” said CP student Aaron Khan. “It will help us to be ready in interviews and jobs.”
It’s clear that, wherever these students are headed, they are well on their way to a bright and successful future.
