The Ramstein Air Base runway is scheduled to undergo major repairs beginning Sept. 13 through 22 — as a result, Space-A Travel will be affected.
During this period, there will be no scheduled stateside flights for Space-A travel at Ramstein. There will also be only limited opportunities for Space-A within Europe.
In the meantime, travel to Bosnia and Kosovo will continue out of
Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.
In order to minimize the impact of these changes, passenger processing will take place at the Ramstein Air Mobility Command Passenger Terminal six hours prior to schedule departure.
Transportation to Spangdahlem will take place from Ramstein after passenger processing is complete. Due to this arrangement, passengers reporting directly to Spangdahlem can not be accepted for travel.
Space-A travel will continue out of Rhein-Main Air Base, Frankfurt. Space-A travel from Ramstein will resume upon the re-opening of the full runway, currently scheduled for Sept. 23.
Additionally, the Ramstein terminal will remain open during the entire period, so people can stop in with questions.
