Storytimes at library

Registration opens

University of Maryland University College Europe registration for Fall 2016 Session 1 is now open. On-site and online courses start Aug. 22. Registration is open until Wednesday for online classes; Aug. 21 for hybrid classes, which is a combination of on-site and online courses; and the day the class begins for each on-site class. This fall UMUC Europe will offer courses in multiple subjects, including business administration, cybersecurity and criminal justice. UMUC Europe will offer a $2,000 Spouse of Service Member Scholarship to help military spouses fund their education. This scholarship is open to both new and current undergraduate and graduate students. It can be applied towards UMUC tuition or refunded to help pay for other educational expenses. KES back-to-school fair

Kaiserslautern Elementry School is holding a back-to-school fair to help new students and parents become oriented with the school. The fair will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday in the KES multipurpose room. Community resources will be on site to answer questions, including Child, Youth and School Services, USO, Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America. Ramstein Intermediate School

Ramstein Intermediate School is looking forward to another great year and wanted to share some important dates for all families enrolled for the upcoming 2016-2017 School Year. A new parent orientation will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 19 in Jaguar Hall. The orientation will provide an opportunity to welcome incoming parents and students. During this time parents and child will learn about school policies and procedures, events, volunteer opportunities and more. An open house will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Aug. 26. On the Aug. 26 just prior to the open house, class placement lists will be posted for incoming Jaguars. The open house will afford students and parents the opportunity to meet teachers and learn about classroom routines and daily schedules. The first day of school is Aug. 29. KES open house

Kaiserslautern Elementary School will host an open house for all families enrolled for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year Aug. 26. During this open house, you and your child will learn about classroom routines, homework, daily schedules and bus procedures. You will have a chance to meet the teacher and bring all your school supplies to stock your desk before the first day of school. College Night

USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Family and MWR and Ramstein High School present College Night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sep. 29 at the Special Events Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Bldg. 237. Learn about education opportunities available from over 100 accredited colleges and universities from the U.S. and across Europe. Food and beverages will be available while supplies last. Driver’s education

Installation Management Command Europe is proud to announce the availability of a comprehensive driver’s education program for high school students in Europe. The program has been made possible through a collaborative effort and contract with the “Fahrlehrerverband,” the German National Federation of Driving Instructors. KMC Teen Shuttle

Child, Youth and School Services offer a KMC Teen Shuttle service. Pick-up and drop-off points are located throughout Vogelweh, Vogelweh Housing, Ramstein and Landstuhl. ID card, shuttle card and permissions slips are required to ride the shuttle. Kindermusik

Kindermusik is a musical program that nurtures young children’s development in the areas of language, social, emotional and physical skills. SKIESUnlimited offers Kindermusik classes in three age categories: Cuddle and Bounce, ages 0 to 18 months; Wiggle and Grow, ages 18 months to 3 years; and Laugh and Learn, ages 3 to 5 years. Open to all branches of service. Computer-assisted piano class

SKIESUnlimited is offering a computer-assisted piano class to help students learn how to play piano. Students receive both a 30-minute individual lesson and a 30-minute interactive piano lesson at a workstation with a stand-alone computer. Students are asked to bring piano books and other teaching materials they may have from previous piano lessons. The class is offered Mondays and Thursdays on Pulaski Barracks, Bldg. 2901, and in Landstuhl, Bldg. 3819. Open to all branches of service for children ages 4 to 18 years old. Clubs at Landstuhl School Age Center

Did you know that Landstuhl School Age Center has several different clubs open to students, grades one to five? The different weekly clubs include cooking, sewing, robotics and film. Registration with Child, Youth and School Services is required. Enrollment fees are based on total family income.
