KMC Scholarship applications

KMC Scholarship 2017 applications are now available for download at www.kmcscholarships.org. Spouse applications and university applications are due March 1 at the Ramstein Officers’ Club; drop-off times are 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Graduating senior applications are due during lunch periods March 2 and 3 at Ramstein High School and Kaiserslautern High School. Scholarship funds are donated by the Kaiserslautern Landstuhl Spouses’ Association, Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club and the Ramstein Enlisted Spouses’ Association. KMC Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors, current university students and spouses of active-duty service members, retired military and Department of Defense civilians residing in the KMC. Scholarships are awarded solely on merit and academic achievement, with no regard to race, color, creed, religion or disability. Financial need is not taken into consideration.

Lapsit Storytime

Join the Rheinland-Pfalz Library for Lapsit Storytime. This infant storytime is held at 10:30 a.m and 1 p.m. every Thursday. The event includes sensory crafts, songs, fingerplays and stories. Light refreshments are available for the parents. Because of limited space, sign-up is required for every storytime. A wait list is also available, in which parents are notified the Saturday prior if a space has become available. Toddler Storytime

Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl hosts a storytime for toddlers ages 2 to 3 years old at 10:30 a.m. every Monday. This entertaining event includes stories, music, flannel board and activities for young children and their parents in order to promote educational development and reading readiness. Tots and Tales Storytime

Tots and Tales Storytime at Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl is an entertaining event with flannel board fun, fingerplays, songs, activities and nursery rhymes. It promotes educational development and reading readiness in young children, ages 12 to 24 months. Tots and Tales Storytime is held at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. every Tuesday. Sign up in advance. Kindermusik

Kindermusik is a musical program that nurtures young children’s development in the areas of language, social, emotional and physical skills. SKIESUnlimited offers Kindermusik classes in three age categories: Cuddle and Bounce, ages 0 to 18 months; Wiggle and Grow, ages 18 months to 3 years; and Laugh and Learn, ages 3 to 5 years. Clubs at Landstuhl School Age Center

Did you know that Landstuhl School Age Center has several different clubs open to students, grades one to five? The different weekly clubs include theater, fitness, art, Lego robotics and film. Registration with Child, Youth and School Services is required. Enrollment fees are based on total family income. Dance instructor needed

SKIESUnlimited is looking for a dance instructor to teach children all levels of dance, to include hip-hop, jazz, ballet, salsa and tap. They are looking for motivated professionals who can develop fun and productive dance programs and educate youth on various dancing techniques. Musical theatre dance classes

Do you love the show-stopping, toe-tapping numbers in a musical? Do you love to express yourself through stories and dance? Then musical theatre dance is for you! SKIESUnlimited offers lessons to youth ages 8 to 18 years old. The first half of class focuses on a good warm-up and jazz technique, and the second half teaches a routine in the style of musical theatre from your favorite songs and shows. KMC Teen Shuttle

Child and Youth Services offer a KMC Teen Shuttle service. Pick-up and drop-off points are located throughout Vogelweh, Vogelweh Housing, Ramstein and Landstuhl. ID card, shuttle card and permissions slips are required to ride the shuttle.
