Job openings at CYSS

If you are interested in working with children and youth, apply online for Child, Youth and School Services positions at www.usajobs.gov. Search for job title: Child and Youth Program Assistant (entry, skill and target level) CY-01/02. Positions are available at Kleber, Landstuhl, Sembach and Miesau locations. Child and Youth Program assistants work directly with children and youth and must be trustworthy, able to maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times and have the desire to be a positive influence on children and youth.

Paws & Pals

The Paws & Pals program helps children improve their literacy skills by teaming up with a dog to read books. The dogs are registered volunteer animals that have been trained and are great listeners. The next Paws & Pals event will take place at 3 p.m Wednesday. Open to preschool through middle school-aged children. Cheer and tumbling classes

SKIESUnlimited offers cheer and tumbling classes for youth ages 6 to 18. Classes help to improve strength, flexibility, jumps and tumbling. Classes are offered on a monthly basis at the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Special Events Center, Bldg. 237. Driver’s Education

Installation Management Command Europe is proud to announce the availability of a comprehensive driver’s education program for high school students in Europe. The program has been made possible through a collaborative effort and contract with the German National Federation of Driving Instructors, Fahrlehrerverband. Lapsit storytime

Join the Rheinland-Pfalz Library for Lapsit storytime. This infant storytime is held at 10:30 a.m every Thursday. The event includes sensory crafts, songs, fingerplays and stories. Light refreshments are available for the parents. Because of limited space, sign-up is required for every storytime. A wait list is also available, in which parents are notified the Saturday prior if a space has become available. Kids pre-Halloween celebration

Celebrate Halloween early at the Rheinland-Pfalz Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 23. Preschool Halloween storytime

Join the Rheinland-Pfalz Library at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 28 for a special preschool Halloween storytime at Landstuhl Library. Celebrate the holiday with some spooky fun. Indoor soccer (seasonal-fall/winter)

SKIESUnlimited recently installed a brand-new indoor soccer arena inside the Special Events Center, Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Bldg. 237. The licensed coaching staff is made up of current German team coaches and former professional, first division soccer players. Open to ages 3 to 17; for all soccer skill levels including basic, intermediate and advanced. Youth will develop basic and fundamental soccer skills as well as tactics and formations. Parents will receive information and feedback on their child’s progress, talent and areas needing improvement.
