***image1***The Ramstein Rogues were recently invited by the German community in Trier to play in their annual Beach Rugby Tournament. Halves were five minutes long with a one-minute intermission in between.
Scores and tries were fast and furious at five or seven points a piece, with the average game after 10 minutes ending in scores in the 30s. As this was the first time three-quarters of the team had played in sand, the learning curve was steep. Ramstein continued to improve each game, capping their tournament play with a 32-27 win over Ansbach.
The Ramstein Rogues will begin the fall season by hosting a tournamant in Queidersbach at the end of August. Interested recruits can e-mail Michael Wissemann at Michael.wissemann@us.army.mil.
