Sembach will hold its annual fair Aug. 25 to 27 in the main square next to the restaurant Zum Kochlöffel also known as Wooden Spoon. The official opening of the fair will be on Saturday at 7 p.m. with a performance by the United States Army Europe Band & Chorus followed by the tapping of the keg at 7:30 p.m. The band XXL Steirer will put on a free performance for the crowds from 9 p.m. playing a varied repertoire, including oldies, and German and international pop and rock music.
Celebrations start on Sunday with an ecumenical worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sembach Music Association will entertain visitors with a musical program along with a performance by the Kindergarten Sonnenblume.
The traditional Kerwe parade will wind its way through the streets of Sembach with walking acts and tractor-pulled floats starting at 2 p.m. Kalli Koppold will entertain visitors with his musical program in the afternoon, when visitors can enjoy a large German-style cake buffet.
The final day of the fair starts Monday at 11 a.m. with the traditional Frühschoppen, or morning pint, with music by the band Tiede und Seine Freunde. Food and beverages will be served throughout the whole weekend. The fair is free of charge on all days. Sembach is looking forward to celebrating their Kerwe with you this weekend.
