Service Credit Union donated $5,000 to the Baumholder Rock Association to help them purchase a Harley Davidson Iron 883 Sportster motorcycle to raffle off in support of charitable works. Owen Ryckman was the holder of the winning ticket and collected his prize June 7 at the Baumholder Exchange New Car Sales show room and Harley show, which was organized by Exchange New Car Sales and Service Credit Union.
The proceeds from the raffle will support various events for Soldiers, their families and fallen heroes of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team. The Rock Association, with the help of other organizations, accepts donations and raises funds to organize various events, including welcome home celebrations and memorials for fallen Soldiers.
The Baumholder-based 2nd Brigade Combat Team consists of about 4,200 active-duty Soldiers, who recently spent more than a year working with the Iraqi army, national police and “Sons of Iraq” civilians to improve security.
“Service Credit Union is a strong supporter of the Baumholder military community and its soldiers, who are essential to the long-term goals or our Army,” said Richard E. Tolle, senior vice president of overseas operations of Service Credit Union.
