The 431st Services Squadron is showing its appreciation to the German Bundeswehr by hosting a German and American Friendship Fest from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sembach Combined Club.
Everyone in the KMC is invited to show their support, express their appreciation and mix their cultures.
“We have been providing meals for the German contingency since they arrived in the KMC, so we felt it was only fitting to host a festival that accents the friendship that has developed over the years,” said Lisa Pajac, Sembach Combined Club manager.
This is not the first time the club has expressed its appreciation for the German soldiers. In July 2003, the club held its first German and American Friendship Fest.
This year the club will be providing a selection of German and American food. There will be games, prizes and live music, provided by Doug Adkins with One More Ride.
The Sembach community will participate in a dunk booth, with all proceeds going to the Sembach Community Fund, which supports other community activities, said Ms. Pajac.
The club staff will present the German military leadership with a plaque of appreciation for supporting the bases in the KMC.
