Soccer Opportunities
The Kaiserslautern Military Community District Soccer Club and U.S. Youth Soccer Europe have several upcoming opportunities for current players:
Nov. 9. KMC visit with FC Schalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Players will train with FC Schalke youth coaches and watch the team play in a Bundesliga match.
Nov. 11, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1-4 p.m, dependent on age groups. This three-hour training is focused on dribbling, passing and finishing.
KMC District Soccer is also still accepting players for this season. KMC is the largest district in Southern Germany affiliated with the U.S. Youth Soccer Europe program. All teams, including adults, play in the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (German Football Association).

2020 CYS winter sports registration
Sign up your young athletes for sports through Youth Sports and Fitness. Basketball and Cheerleading are offered on Landstuhl, Sembach & Baumholder. Basketball is for children ages 5-15 and Cheerleading is for ages 8-15. Wrestling is available for ages 8-14 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks and Baumholder. All sports cost $60. Sports Physicals must be current through Mar.15 at time of registration. Registration is open from Nov. 1-29 or until teams are full. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes
SKIESUnlimited offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in two different levels: Little Grapplers, ages 5-7; and Bully Busters, 8-13. Little Grapplers teaches basic self-defense techniques while instilling the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu foundational principles of leverage and control. Bully Busters focuses on a set curriculum of non-violent, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu based, self-defense techniques that teach children to “neutralize and negotiate” with bullies. No experience required and you can count on seeing a visible increase in your child’s confidence within a few short weeks! Open to all branches of service. Start Smart Basketball
Start Smart is a “child/parent interactive” basketball program lead by a Child and Youth Sports staff member for ages 3-4. The sessions are 45 minutes long and are held weekly at 5 p.m. for 6 weeks. Sessions are offered on Landstuhl & Sembach. Cost is $25. Registration is Nov. 1-29, or until sessions are full. The classes begin in mid-January. Zumba classes and locations
Spring into an exciting workout with energetic beats and dance moves with Zumba. Now offered at both Rhine Ordnance Barracks and Sembach Fitness Center. ROB classes will be held Wed 9-10 a.m. & Thu 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Bldg. 231 and Sembach Fitness Center’s class held Mon 5:15-6:15 p.m. in Bldg. 105. Be sure to have fun and get fit. Kickboxing
Kickboxing is a martial art and combat sport of attack and defense in which competitors wear boxing gloves and throw punches as in boxing and kick with their bare feet as in Karate and many other martial arts. Kickboxing is a combination of combat techniques; self-defense sport, exercise and philosophy. The art in general emphasizes kicks thrown from a mobile stance using the legs greater reach and power to disable the opponent from a distance. It is not only kicking and boxing, but also a way of thinking and living. The main goal in kickboxing is to achieve total body physical fitness through proper training. Available for ages 6+.
