German Legends soccer game
2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the FC Kaiserslautern German championship. To commemorate the event, a German Legends soccer game is being held at 3 p.m. on Sept. 8. Stars of the past, including Otto Rehagel (coach), will come together to compete against German legends including Mario Basler, Lothar Mathäus, and Berti Vogts (coach). All net earnings from the event will go to support three foundations: Fritz-Walter-Stiftung, Horst-Eckel-Stiftung, and  Betze-Engel. Ramstein Color Run
Pre-registration for the Ramstein Color Run may be closed, but you can still sign up the day of the event, Aug. 11. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., and the run begins at 9 a.m. This Color Run is not about speed; it’s about fun. The Ramstein Color Run is a 5K fun run where runners are showered with color powder throughout the course. So just run for the fun of it; first 300 finishers will get a prize.  Kids 12 and under run for free. We will have an area set up the day of event on the tennis courts behind the Southside Fitness Center for people to check in. A portion of the funds raised will be donated to our local Operation Warmheart. Registration day of the event is $45. KMC soccer registration
Kaiserslautern Military Community District Soccer is still taking registrations for the 2018-2019 season, which starts on Aug. 13. The league has openings for boys and girls from U7 to U17. The next player evaluation will be held at the Schwedelbach soccer complex on Aug. 10. Players 10 years old and under will be evaluated at 10 a.m. and 10 years old and up at 11 a.m. KMC District Soccer is the largest district in Southern Germany affiliated with the U.S. Youth Soccer Europe program. All teams play in the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (German Football Association). Start Smart sports development
Let your 3-4 year old build a foundation in three of the world’s most popular sports. Start Smart is a parent-child interactive fitness, baseball, basketball, and soccer program lead by a Baumholder Youth Sports and Fitness staff member. This offering will be a 4-day consecutive days from 10 to 11 a.m. on Aug. 6 to 9. KMC Ambassadors
KMC Ambassadors is looking for a few good coaches. The KMC Ambassadors is a baseball/softball club that supports the entire Kaisers­lautern Military Community with fall developmental baseball/softball training for kids ages 8 to 18 and in-season travel team opportunities across Europe for kids ages 10 to 16. If you have experience playing or coaching baseball and/or softball at a high level and want to help to shape the youth of our community into competitive ball players, then we are the program for you. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes
SKIESUnlimited offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in two different levels: Little Grapplers, ages 5 to 7; and Bully Busters, 8 to 13. Little Grapplers teaches basic self-defense techniques while instilling the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu foundational principles of leverage and control. Bully Busters focuses on a set curriculum of non-violent, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu based, self-defense techniques that teach children to “neutralize and negotiate” with bullies.
