RHS Volunteer Coaches

Ramstein High School track and field team needs volunteer coaches for shot put, discus, triple jump, long jump, high jump, hurdles, and sprints. Come share your expertise with top athletes for 1 to 3 days a week. Contact Coach Buckley at 015152556697 or william.buckley@student.dodea.edu.

Fitness Challenge

This three-part event will test your strength like never before! All participants will be required to participate in all three events: bench press, dead lift, and rowing. Each contestant will be weighed and their body weight used to set the weight of the bar for the first two events with each rep that is made in good form being counted. The rowing event will be for 8 minutes and the length achieved will be added to the score of the first two events. Awards will be given to highest male and female scores. First 40 participants will receive a shirt. Pre-registration will take place at the ROB Fitness Center Feb. 11 to 22 and on the day of the event, Feb. 23, starting at 8 a.m. with event beginning at 9 a.m. This is a free event. Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a martial art and combat sport of attack and defense in which competitors wear boxing gloves and throw punches as in boxing and kick with their bare feet as in Karate and many other martial arts. Kickboxing is a combination of combat techniques; self-defense sport, exercise and philosophy. The art in general emphasizes kicks thrown from a mobile stance using the legs’ greater reach and power to disable the opponent from a distance. It is not only kicking and boxing, but a way of thinking and living. The main goal in kickboxing is to achieve total body physical fitness through proper training. Available for ages 6+. Soccer for girls

The Kottweiler-Schwanden Sports Club is looking for girls born in the years 2006 up to 2010 for its youngest girls’ soccer team. The sports club has four girls’ teams and two women’s teams. They are also looking for new players. This is the opportunity to get involved in a German soccer club playing with German and American girls. Coaches are all able to speak English. Happy Feet youth soccer program

Introduce your children ages 2 to 3 to the fun sport of soccer! Parents alongside their children are shown the basic soccer skills as well as developing the child’s motor, social and psychological skills. Inspire your toddler to be active, strong, confident and well balanced to unleash their awesome both on and off the field. Beginning April, modules will use fundamental soccer activities and games to develop their skills in balance, agility and coordination, technical skills, gross motor skills, physical development, social skills, self-confidence, communication and teamwork. Open to boys and girls from ages 2-3 and all military I.D. cardholders that are registered with CYS Services. Spring Soccer Camps

This is a great opportunity for youth to enter into a fun and athletic activity that is designed to deliver an action-packed week of fun, skills and games April 2 to 6. The goal is to assist youth soccer players to achieve their playing potential through proper techniques, fitness and conditioning development. Professional coaches will provide a vast range of training, theories and conditioning. Fitness professionals needed

Sports and Fitness is looking to expand and energize the fitness classes and services offered to the community. If you are highly motivated, enthusiastic, and have a passion to teach in a group setting or one-on-one, then Sports and Fitness wants you. There are positions available for all types of group exercise classes. This is an opportunity to start or continue your career. You can be your own boss and set your own schedule. These are contracted positions that require CPR/AED, nationally recognized certification, and liability insurance. Aikido martial arts classes

Sports & Fitness has added adult Aikido to the class schedule! Aikido is a Japanese martial art form designed and used for self-defense. The foundation of Aikido is the act of redirecting the attacker’s energy, rendering it harmless. These classes, taught by a Shodan Black Belt, are excellent for improving balance, flexibility and endurance. Classes are every Monday and Wednesday from 8 to 9 p.m. $55 per month, cannot be bought individually. Classes are in the upper Wetzel housing area, Bldg. 8876, which is the Child and Youth Services Multipurpose Room.
