KMC Youth Sports recruits coaches

KMC Youth Sports is currently recruiting volunteer coaches for the upcoming fall season. Sports offered are soccer, flag football and cheerleading at Ramstein and Vogelweh Youth Sports. The ages range from 5 to 15 and the season runs from Sept. 12 to Oct. 24. Remembrance 5K Run/Walk

The Rheinland-Pfalz Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation is hosting a Remembrance 5K Run/Walk at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 12, dedicated to the brave men and women who gave their lives for their country. Registration for the run will be held from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Special Events Center, Bldg. 237. T-shirts will be given to the first 150 paid participants. Cost is $7; ages 12 and under are free. Prior to the run, community members are invited to submit photos and names of their deceased loved ones to the FMWR Facebook page. Back-to-school sports physicals

The Baumholder Army Health Clinic is holding a Back to School and Sports Physical day from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Following summer leave and PCS season, it is often difficult to meet these requirements in a timely manner so the facility has blocked off provider schedules for the afternoon. Women’s soccer team needs players

The FV Olympia Ramstein women’s soccer team is looking for players age 16 and older. Practice time is 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday at the FV Olympia Ramstein soccer field at Am Hocht (across from the Esso station) in Ramstein village. Superhero 5K run/walk

Join Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation and the Army Substance Abuse Program for this year’s Red Ribbon Run Superhero 5K Oct. 17. Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the United States. Registration is free and will be held the day of the event from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Sembach Fitness Center. The run begins at 11:30 a.m. After the run, there will be costume contest, dance demos, prizes, food, drinks and more. Awards will be given to the first, second and third place winners of the adult and child costume contests. Open to community members of all ages.
