Leaders from the 21st Theater Sustainment Command rang in 2014 with members of the German military and local leaders from the KMC with food, fellowship and tradition during a New Year’s reception Jan. 10 at Armstrong’s Club on Vogelweh.
Soldiers, family, friends and civilians of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 16th Sustainment Brigade welcomed their new commander during a change of command ceremony Dec. 11 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder.
The 21st Theater Sustainment Command welcomed its newest member into the Sgt. Morales Club during a ceremony Dec. 4 on Panzer Kaserne in Kaiserslautern.
Running full-speed at nosebleed elevations; traversing creeks, rocks and caves; scrambling over loose rock debris; and hiking up goat trails with walking sticks that resemble ski poles might seem crazy to some, but adventure racers — including one U.S. Army Reserve Soldier stationed in Europe — would race no other way.
Their morning starts early with each of them reporting to the shed at 6 a.m. They begin with safety training, practice, drawing gear and inspections before getting on a bus. Rain or shine, high winds or calm, whether they jump or not, these paratroopers are always prepared.
Most Soldiers learn the ways of leadership from a very early stage in their military career. They are taught to use their experience, education and abilities to mentor younger Soldiers and accomplish the mission. Some Soldiers in the Kaiserslautern area will use the same qualities to mentor high school students.
Soldiers, officers, NCOs and Department of the Army civilians from the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 21st Special Troops Battalion went “back to basics” and conducted a training readiness week Oct. 28 to Nov. 1 in the KMC.
The 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 7th Civil Support Command’s Soldiers and their families from the KMC attended a Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program event conducted by the 7th CSC Family Programs Office Oct. 25 to 27.
