A flea market of a special kind takes place March 3 to 5 in the event hall of the Kaiserslautern Gartenschau. It’s the annual Pfennig Bazaar sponsored by the German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern.

One of the sweetest and strongest signs of friendship between Germany and America happened in Kaiserslautern. From 1952 to 1971, approximately 451 American infants who died at birth or shortly after at the American military hospital in Landstuhl or at nearby civilian hospitals were buried in the Kaiserslautern main cemetery, Waldfriedhof, adjacent to Daenner Kaserne.

The German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and is sponsoring its annual Pfennig Bazaar March 4 to 6 in the event hall of the Kaiserslautern Gartenschau.

The German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern gathered June 8 for a barbecue to celebrate the success of their annual Pfennig Bazaar and to present donations from the event proceeds to more than 30 organizations in the surrounding German and American community.
