Members of the 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron participate in tug of war during the Battle of the Badges competition May 19 on Ramstein. Airmen and Soldiers participated in multiple events to determine the best local police unit. After hours of competition, the 435th Security Forces Squadron was declared the winner.

In 1962, in honor of fallen law enforcement members, President Kennedy declared May 15 as National Peace Officer Memorial Day and the week in which that day falls on, as National Police Week.
