U.S., German and French paratroopers wait to board a C-130J Super Hercules prior to conducting an airborne operation. The operation, which was coordinated by the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 5th Quartermaster Detachment (Airborne), was conducted as a part of International Jump Week in which paratroopers from the U.S., Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Estonia perform airborne operations together in an effort to build on relationships and interoperability.

More than 300 U.S., German, French, Spanish, Estonian and Dutch paratroopers participated in four days of airborne operations during the annual International Jump Week recently over the Alzey Drop Zone.

Their morning starts early with each of them reporting to the shed at 6 a.m. They begin with safety training, practice, drawing gear and inspections before getting on a bus. Rain or shine, high winds or calm, whether they jump or not, these paratroopers are always prepared.
