The luncheon was held in memory of prisoners of war and those missing in action, and Needham was invited to be the guest speaker to tell his story to Airmen as a way to enhance their resiliency. Needham was captured Nov. 4, 1979, by Iranian terrorists who took over the U.S. Embassy in Teheran, Iran.

When you first meet him, you think he is just another veteran with an incredibly humorous attitude. After a few moments of talking and getting to know him, you find out there is much more to him than meets the eye.

Although the sun is up, you could hardly tell through the dense fog creating an eerie feeling at the dig site. Everyone had their warmest jackets on as they prepared to load everything up after a long year and a half of digging.
