Ryan Dyle, Ramstein Auto Skills Center mobile equipment servicer, replaces a summer tire for a winter tire Oct. 1 on Ramstein. The auto center provides services to put winter tires on a vehicle or the space and equipment if one wishes to change their tires themselves.

Residents must keep sidewalks free of snow, ice

Residents living off-base in German communities must know the rules regarding snow and ice on sidewalks. Residents should check their rental contracts to find out about their obligations. The rental contract clearly states who must keep sidewalks free of ice and snow.

Going home at the end of the day is a welcomed experience for most people after a busy day, but without the right precautions, driving can be hazardous during the winter months. Vehicle accidents increase at an alarming rate during colder weather because many drivers fail to compensate for the increased driving hazards created by sleet, ice and snow.

Exchange reminds drivers of mud, snow tire requirement
