Parking discs needed
In certain parking lots on Ramstein Air Base, display of a parking disc is required. The maximum allowable time a car may remain in these lots is posted; the driver must set the disc to the arrival time and make it visible. The following are some parking lots where discs are required; MOMS, the Ramstein Officers’ Club, the commissary, the library and the community center. Parking without displaying a disc or remaining past the allowed time could result in a citation.
New process, new hours
The Ramstein Visitor Control Center recently changed processes on issuing passes. The VCC now issues passes with a scannable barcode. These passes are valid for one to three days and may be used at any KMC Air Force or KMC Army installation. Any request longer than three days will require customers to receive a long-term pass. Customers should understand with the new process, waiting times may be longer than usual.
The VCC changed its operating hours. It opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m., seven days a week. After hours, customers may still sign in guests at the west gate. The sponsor must be registered in IACS to sign in visitors. Furthermore, ID card holders who forget their ID may also be searched in IACS and be granted base access. Retiree luncheon
The 86th Airlift Wing Retirees Activities Office will sponsor a KMC Retiree Luncheon at 11 a.m. March 13 at the KMCC Food Court Activity Room. The guest speaker will be the LRMC commander. If you wish to attend sign up by calling 480-5486 or 06371-47-5486, or email at 86aw.rao@us.af.mil.
Office closures
The KMC Housing Office and Furnishings Management Section will close at 11:30 March 14 due to training and on March 30 and April 2 due to German legal holidays.
Professional of the year
The 2017 Maintenance and Logistics Professional of the Year Banquet will be March 9 in the dual bay hangar, Bldg. 2018 on Ramstein Air Base. Social will begin at 5 p.m., dinner is at 6. Cost is $5 for Airmen, $10 for NCOs and GCOs, and $15 for Senior NCOs and FGOs.
Units needed for blood drives

The Belgium Unit is hosting the Air Force Ball Fundraiser at the Belgium Unit BBQ Pit on March 22 where you can buy hotdogs and chips for $3.75
Super Smash Bros. Tournament
The Kaiserslautern Military Community 5/6 will be hosting a Super Smash Brothers tournament in the KMCC Food Court multi-purpose room March 16 from 5 to 9 p.m. Prices are: $10 p. p. for 1 vs 1, $15 per team for 2 vs 2, and $2 for participants 12 years or younger or $3 for participants older than 12. There will be a drawing for any of the event attendees and also trophies for the winners.
