The ninth Street Ball Night takes place June 20 in Schulzentrum Süd, Im Stadtwald 2 in Kaiserslautern.
The Protestant Youth Alliance is organizing the tournament in cooperation with the City of Kaiserslautern, the youth department, German police and the state prevention council. It is under the auspices of Youth and Sports Department Chief Joachim Färber. The tournament features many surprises and sports challenges for all fans. A special incentive for club players 19 and older is the qualification of the first and second winners for the German Street Ball Championship of the German Basketball Association.
Players 12 and older can participate in the tournament. The age groups are 12 to 15, 16 to 18, and 19 and older. They are divided in groups of hobby and club players. The event takes place at 8 p.m. For all players 15 and younger, the games end at midnight. Others play until 2:30 a.m. the following day.
Besides playing street ball, there is the chance of participating in a dunking contest, XXL shoot and bump out. Prizes will be awarded.
Registration fee is €30 per team. The fee includes a Street Ball Night T-shirt for each player. To register by Thursday, stop by Burger King in the center of town (near Stiftskirche) or go online and visit www.streetballnight.de.
