As spring rolls into town so do the many opportunities to get fit in the KMC, but you say you’re already fit … Well have we got a challenge for you.
The May Total Fit and Readiness Challenge, Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the running track in rear of the Southside Fitness Center on Ramstein, is a team fitness challenge aimed at Air Force Groups located within the KMC.
The challenge consists of efficient agility training exercises that significantly contribute to preventing injuries, elevating fitness levels and better preparing members for the physical readiness challenges of deployment.
Teams of two will compete in this challenge of various fitness tasks. Teams with the best combination of core strength, agility, balance and coordination will fare the best.
It will not necessarily be those with the most strength or speed that compete well. Prizes will be awarded to the top three placing teams out of the 16 teams that will compete.
The agencies sponsoring the challenge will use this event as an opportunity to demonstrate to commanders around the KMC the value of the Total Fit concept in adapting to their unit physical training sessions.
Results have shown that units adapting the Total Fit concepts experience less fitness-related and work-related injuries. Competing members should bring a good pair of leather work gloves and an old set of BDUs.
For additional details or to sign up, call the Ramstein Health and Wellness Center anytime before the event at 480-4292.
