‘TIS THE SEASON — TAX SEASON!

Tax season has begun and the Ramstein Tax Center wants you to know we are here for you! We realize that filing your taxes can be scary, but you don’t have to face the challenge alone.

The Ramstein Tax Center is here to provide services to active duty service members, civilians on SOFA status, and the dependents of both these groups. Please understand that priority will be given to Active Duty Air Force personnel. All tax assistance will be by appointment only.

We have trained professionals and qualified volunteers to file your taxes for you with the latest IRS approved tax assistance software. We complete the process free of charge.

All U.S. citizens are required to file and report their income every year. Many filers are entitled to a refund and the sooner you file, the sooner you get your money back into your pocket. While overseas, the Federal government gives you an automatic filing extension until 15 June 2020. However, if you owe money, interest will begin collecting on the 15 April 2020 stateside filing deadline. We will continue to provide tax assistance through the IRS extended deadline of June 15, 2020.

How can you get in touch with us? Just call DSN 480-1040 or Commercial 06371-47-1040. All service is by appointment only, so gather your documents and call early. To prepare for filing your taxes, you should collect and bring the following: photo ID; Social Security cards for you, your spouse and all children or dependents; Individual Tax Identification Number (I.T.I.N.) if applicable; W-2, 1099-R, 1099-MISC; Interest and Dividend statements; total paid to daycare providers with their tax ID; educational expenses; proof of additional income or deductible expenses; power of attorney if spouse is not present during appointment; bank routing number and account number (for refund/payment); and your return from 2018.

The Ramstein Tax Center is located in building 2137, across from the Ramstein Southside Fitness Center. We are co-located with the Ramstein Law Center.
